THE
CLOUD ROOM – The Cloud Room (2005)
Brooklyn
based quartet The Cloud Room floats onto the indie scene with
their deput, self-titled, blending an older, 60’s
style of pop with the ingenious bubble-gum sounds of today, resulting
in an album that is sure to please many listeners. According
to Gigantic Music’s website, the perfect way to describe
this band is that they “have a unique way of blurring the
lines between today and yesterday.” That being said, the
sound that this band produces is extremely hard to pinpoint,
yet it’s fabulous and different all the same. The lyrics
are catchy, which matches the overall presentation. Again, instrumentation
becomes important in this album as keyboards add a nice contrast
to the mellow guitar and toe-tapping drums. Each instrument blends
together and the listener is left with a sound that seems familiar,
yet is entirely unlike from anything ever heard.
