HEIDI
O COLLECTION
The Heidi O collection is designed for women who seek to be feminine
and unrestrained at once. Each piece strikes a balance between the openness
of organic beauty and the edgy sophistication of city life, the expressiveness
of rock and roll and ballet's refinement.
Heidi is strongly influenced by having been exposed to many
intellecual, free thinking, artistic people as a child living
in the woods of West Virginia and British Columbia. The otherwordly,
organic and solitary aspects of nature find their way into her
choices of fabric and form.
Having trained intensively as a classical
ballerina at the HeartWood Dance Center gave Heidi a sense of
purpose, dedication to an art and exposure to the costumes and theatricality
of dance that are now reflected in her work.
Heidi was exposed to fashion
early on during summers spent at the Renaissance fair. Later
she designed theatrical and sculptural hats and veils based on
a Renaissance aesthetic. Heidi received formal millinery training
at FIT. Heidi O's current focus is on versatile "femme-urban" womens
clothing that bridges the gap between casual and dressy.
